The Imo Maja Party gubernatorial aspirant Barr. Aloysius Osuji took to his Facebook page to lament the poor treatment of the people of Imo State by a government they put in power promising to return power to the people if given the chance to serve. The post reads:

"We were made to believe that power belongs to the people. The people give it and they can also take it away. However, today we see some people who want us to believe that power belonging to a few who dictate what to do with it and weld it as they deem fitting for their private benefits. Why else would a man want to convert Imo State into his private family business if they have any regard for the people and their feelings? It is time to give power back to the people. It is time to say enough. It is time for the suffering masses of the state ranging from the pensioners, civil servants, traders, artisans and other business men who have been humiliated by the present administration to stand up and say enough with their PVC.

Our people have been misruled for far too long. We have died, the blood of our children spilled on our land cries out to us to save the future and it is either we act now and act fast or we allow the future of our children to be ruined.

Let's stand together and save Imo.

Imo achogi onye ochichi maka ha achigbule anyi, Imo choro onye ndu. Let me lead the way for our people. God bless Imo State"
