Breaking: Dino Melaye Dumps APC, Joins PDP

Embattled senator, Dino Melaye, resumed plenary on Wednesday, after spending two weeks in police detention. He was wearing a neck brace.

And he had a shocking announcement for his collegaues at plenary.

He announced his technical defection from the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) and requested to sit on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) row.

Senate President Bukola Saraki, who presided over the session, granted Melaye's request despite stiff opposition from APC senators.

Melaye also accused the police of attempting to kill him twice by administering chemical substance and injection in him..

It would be recalled that the Kogi West senator was arrested and detained by the police on April 24, 2018 on charges of gun running.
