Buhari sacks Mike Okiro as Chairman Police Service Commission

President Muhammadu Buhari has replaced former Inspector-General of Police, Mike Okiro, as chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC).

Okiro’s exit will usher in a new chairman for the commission in the person of Musiliu Smith, who is equally a former Inspector-General of Police.

Smith’s appointment was contained in a letter written by President Buhari to the Senate and which was read by Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki on the floor of the upper legislative chamber on Thursday.

President Buhari, according to reports, also appointed five other persons into the commission.
